  • From time line to blue ray disc.

Could somebody please post the steps needed for the easiest way to transcode file from the timeline in E5, import into into movie factory then to burn a blue-ray disc.

    Hope this makes sense

    Regards

I am not sure if this forum allows for such long replies?

Sorry, it was'nt meant for a long reply.

      Start again.

      (1) Is there a pre set in E5 (export) to encode to blue ray compliant file?

      (2) Can this file then be imported into ulead that comes with E5. After adding chapters can you then press burn and ulead does the encoding and burning.

Or is it more complicated that.

      Regards

        1. yes, export to mpeg and tick enable conversion, then all your HD presets will show

        2. I have not tried ulead myself but it is meant to work with the files created by Edius

            Hi all,

Have now upgraded to E5 and to answer my own question it is very easy. As Anton has already stated from the timeline export to hd then open up Movie factory and import into create a video disc and tick Blue-ray, create a menu etc then burn. No complicated setting etc.

Very limited menus' etc but produced a playable disc. So far played in PS3 and in a Samsung Blue-ray DVD player.

            Regards

What other program would you use to make a blu-ray disc.

I've been using Roxio ProHD for a year and a half, (not one coaster) I'm using Edius 4.5 and take my HQavi into roxio and go from their easy program to learn...Great results. Gary

If you demux the prog. stream from Edius, it pops into Encore CS3 perfectly, this is covered on the Firecoder blu forum in some depth - tried it and it's fine.
