  • Any info on using Workstation or Server MB ?

I am starting to look at building a new editing system , my supplier asked me why not have a look at a workstation or server system , he suggests a MB Asus P5E64 WS Evolution. I am between maybe buying a Intel MACPro or going with what I am use to . Any info or help is welcome
On the support section on Canopus they seems to have problem with Southbridge MB.

I use a server MB with 2 dual-core Xeons. One benefit I've seen with this system is that it has enough power to transcode multiple outputs simultaneously and I can still work with applications like Photoshop while the system is transcoding. With Task Manager displayed, my CPU usage is no where near maxed-out.

If you have a need to multi-task, then this type of system is for you.

The Asus board would be fine, no need to go server boards, as this it what they are for servers, not workstations,
