Which HD monitor/display do you recommend?

Well if the other people are getting correct out I think maybe you have changed the default layout setting by accident.
(the default in the layout tool)
It has happened a few times that people did that.

I checked the layout tools. The default settings are as they should be! And I think if they were not there was no difference between the preview window in Edius itsself and the preview of the HD Storm. Check the two fotos I posted two days ago:

the left shows the preview window in Edius, the right the preview of the HD Storm, which is cropped on every side!

The monitor is connected via HDMI with the HD Storm card. There is no Storm Breakout Box in this Coputer!

John, I was asking about the 64bit Vista Beta drivers you told me you had with it, just wanted to see how they where going? John Camera control doesn't work with firewire pluged in as well as the HDMI cable on the HDStorm card correct? I just don't really get the point just for a codec, as you have a HDV camera, why not just capture through firewire into Edius, and use a spark card when they come out to view it on a monitor?

Yes, I have that LG right in front of me and it was originally (now again) connected to the HD Storm card.
After selecting HDMI move down the setup menu to SCREEN/ARC/ and select Original and then select SCREEN/HDMI/Video. You don't need the 1:1 computer setting.
The problem I find with the LG L246WH is a constant shimmering effect which doesn't appear on the Dell.

Steve, I didn't know they were released yet? I'm just having a fabulous time with the HD Storm on XP - this has got to be almost as good as the original Storm. A few software tweaks and it will leave everything else for dead. There's a feature article coming up shortly in Auscam.

The 64bit Vista HD Storm drivers aren't due till Q1 09 according to numerous posts on the forum.

John how are the 64bit HDStorm drivers running on Vista 64Bit? have you had any problems with them? installing ect. Have had a few enquires about the card through my computer buisness people wanting to know how it works on Vista 64bit.

@ Redgum: Have you ever tried the HD Storm with a LG L246WH?

I´m using these two. They are connected via HDMI. But the preview is croped! Using on the LG the setting HDMI/PC/1:1 there are black bars on the left and right side. Can you confirm this?

Actually this is the clarification I would like. Does it come with component inputs or a component to DVI cable/converter or other?

No, I am not really interested in the Storm Card, doesn't have camera control, I will be happy to capture with FireWire and output with the Spark card when it comes out. also can't justify the price just for a Codec on a card, I know people are saying in other posts that it takes the load of the CPU, maybe good if you have a slow or old computer (CPU ect) but I don't,
So as I said can't justify the price just to capture through HDMI without camera control.

Sorry, but I think you need to read the thread again. My comment was...

I've been using Dell's for years but the new S2409W (Full HD) model is spot on. One of the only 24" 1920 x 1080 (true 16:9) monitors on the market. Limited to HDMI, DVI and Component but that's all you need with the NX or HDStorm.
Absolutely brilliant reproduction and not expensive at all.

This simply means that you can use HDMI (HDStorm), DVI or Component with this monitor. I use HDMI.
I never said or implied anything else. The thrust of my reply was to emphasise the 16:9 aspect of this monitor whereas most LCD's are 16:10 and can cause various problems (particularly if they are of the cheaper variety - build wise). Steve, do you need further clarification?
