Camera control is not possible through HDMI. The only device control I am aware of, is more along the lines of interactivity between A/V devices (TVs, players, receivers) -

I don't think HDMI was meant to replace FireWire...that is the companies planned to add VTR control to HDMI camcorders so you can capture with clip splitting and control a VTR.
I know that my Bravia does support HDMI control, but don't even know what it would be used for.Comment
