  • Multicam / sync issue

    I've a question about multicam/sync issue.
I can switch on the multicam mode, and when i select a few clips they are added to the timeline (synced by timecode), so this is working fine.
But the clips are all placed on another track. Is there a possibility to put your clips on the same track?

I want to use it for a concert registration, the cams on a tripod can record all the time, but the handheld cam will make a lot of shots. So i want to put all this shots on a single track in relation to the timecode.

what I would do is have the hand held cameras run even when the are not "fixed on a shot"
This will save you lots of time in post.
With the start and stop you''ll have to do some manual sycing at some point.

    You can also:
1 put the clips on a track before going in multicam
2 put them in a seqeunce and use that seqeunce in multicam
All of these will require some extra effort.

Yes ok, i've also thought about that, but i'm still wondering whether it's possible to put it on 1 track instead of different tracks

See my above post :) It is possible

        "copy"
        You can also:
1 put the clips on a track before going in multicam
2 put them in a seqeunce and use that seqeunce in multicam
All of these will require some extra effort.

            help me please

            Hi there.
I have a grand question concerning the multicam/sync in edius.

On edius 4.6 I have such problem:

I edit the live concert(4 cameras HDV) and I don't understand how I can easily sync the videos from different cameras(i know about the timecode, rec time sync stuff, but the cameras were awfully not setted to anything from that.)

How do I can to sync my videos?

Or even in other words - how I can move the videoclip on the timeline with the step of 1 frame? I mean not by the mouse, there should be some key shorttcut, or not?)

            Thanks in advance!

Select the clip and position the edit cursor over it. Switch to Edit Mode (F6), and click the Rolling edit button (right-most).

Use the '<' and '>' keys to nudge in either direction, frame by frame.

Ok... I have lost my HTTP area to upload pictures to I am going to try and describe this.

                1. Place the mouse pointer just to left of the in point of the clip you want move When you see a orange bracket that opens to the left click the left mouse button.

When you do this you should see red color bars on the outside of the clip.

                2. Move your mouse pointer to just past the outpoint of the clip you want to use until you see the orange brack that opens to the right. Hold the Control key and clickwith the left mouse button.

When you complete this there should be color bars on the out side of both the inpoint and outpoint of the clip.

                3. Use the . and , keys to move the clip a frame at a time. you will automatically go into trim mode.

Tip: Hold the Shift Key while selecting the . and , keys and it will move 10 frames at a time

                Hope that helped :)
