  • Change Hardware Settings in Edius 5

I have installed the new version of Edius 5 in one edit station with Edius NX Express card. In “Hardware Settings” if I make any changes, like example the “RT Buffer” to 512MB, and if I close the Edius 5 application and start again, the changed values of “Hardware Setting” changes to default. The Edius didn’t memorize any change we made in “Hardware Settings”?
    I need some help!!

you are not alone..... in the german speech-area the same.....

for Edius5 on german OS, equal XP-SP2 \ XP-SP3 and Vista it is a "know bug"
what language is your OS ???

As far as I know ..... this bug it is not aviable on english OS
German Support wrote in the german forum: they work' on a fix, but no know how long we have to wait

it is written in this forum, (without any commentars from official moderators)

friendly greetings from europe to europe .... old (but not morbid) Hans

PS: The "can not save Setting" part with the >RT-Buffer< is unbeautiful, but you can live for the time from one session with 512 ...

but this bug is extremely painful for Users which needs for correct preview other setting as the "default Direct3D9"
you can sure change the setting to "Direct Draw" .... but remember, for activate this change , you need to restart.
bingooo ...behind the restart ..... coming Edius up with the "default Direct3D9" ... it is a ping >> pong >> ping >> pong play

therefore I can not understood the long wait time to this special-fix,
Edius5, on German OS with a Grafic-Card they need "Direct Draw" is good for nothing
you can not change to a correct overlay......you can only go back to 4.61........

The only way I found to make Edius5 assume the "Hardware Setting" was uninstall the Edius5 and install Edius4, makes the changes that I needed and then uninstall the Edius4 and then install Edius5 again. The Edius5 assume the "Hardware Settings" made in Edius4 but we have the same problem, if i want change any setting again the Edius5 didn't memorize.

ditto here in europe\austria .... copy from my original topic:

09-25-2008, 12:28 AM .....It gives two different outward forms: (from this bug..)

              a) fresh install behind "format" with new OS >>> Edius can not save the Hardwaresetting change and coming always up with "default" settings
              b) install over 4.xx >>> Edius can not save the Hardwaresetting change and coming always up with the "adopted settings from 4.xx"
(this is maybe a hint to the roots from this bug)
              =========================================

about fast (???) fix-date : Are you able to guestimate when 5.01 will be available? >>> GrassValley_KH 09-25-2008, 12:28 AM

Between now and the end of the year? (Not that helpful is it?)

In all seriousness, I don't think it's too far away - it includes the drivers for the new HDSPARK and HDTHUNDER products,
so it will certainly need to be ready for when those two ship out in around 8 weeks.
