If only they'd make one for Expresscard/34 slots...

If you monitor audio and video from OCHI you'll be fine.
Don't expect to monitor video from OCHI and audio from your soundcard (or vice-versa).
OCHI lag has been overcome in some NLE's by injecting a timeline lag.
Canopus would rather sell you a card (and I'd rather buy one) for monitoring. If only they'd make one for Expresscard/34 slots... laptops would be smokin' good!

now I'm a bit confused. My expected process would be to input as HQ, edit on an HQ timeline, and output via OHCI (firewire) to a firewire capable deck or DVD player and then to a monitor...Will I experience a lag between audio and video (out of sync) playback on the monitor in this configuration? Or will I have to rely on computer screen playback for in-sync audio & video playback?

When you say Sync I assume you are referring to audio/video.
1) PC monitor/soundcard are perfect.
2) Firewire audio/video are synced.
OCHI timeline lag is probably still there, so don't expect to combine the two.
Not really an Edius problem, it's an OCHI problem.Last edited by Rusty; 10-07-2008, 12:30 AM.

OCHI is 100% rock-solid.
Sound from sound card is perfect.
Don't expect any improvements on monitoring through OCHI... it's still SD.

The tiny card : HDspark will be the cheapest (12/2008).
