  • problems with v5 and using vista 64

i am finding a few bugs with v5 and using vista 64
1: when i render out a project ( i render out to 3 different formats ) i have to close edius to playback the file in mediaplayer if i dont the pc locks and i have to reboot then when i open edius again and go to my last project it warns me that this is a read me file ( this the project i was rendering when it crashed )and if i want to edit i have to resave as another name
2: now that i have finished rendering a project i now have to, if i want to use edius again and start another project, i have to reboot my pc and as in Q1 where i have to close edius to preview my rendered file i cannot open edius again without rebooting my pc.
i am also finding that enlarging the preview window or shrinking it is not a smooth movement as it was with 4.61 and xp sp2 maybe a little picky but i think one would like it to work the same way and i use a pen for editing i also find edius not as reponsive as with a mouse ,, i like to use a pen as thats what i use at work for editing
over all i do like v5
    i am running vista 64 amd 6000 4 gb ddr2800 2x8800gts 640mg abit board
    thanks

I agree with you, I don't think it is as smooth as version 4.61 was, I think they have a few bugs to work out with it to get it to run in Vista 64bit properly.

    cheers

I do not agree - I am runnig Edius 5 on Vista Ultimate 64bit without problems(besides the already communicated like HW changes not saved and m2p only in the output modules).
But I never use the media player.

running 2 graphics cards at once

I notice you are running 2x8800gts graphic cards...

Its my experience (from using 4.61 with 2 graphics cards) that there were a few bugs that went away when i disabled one of the graphics cards (using the properties)

I was unable to create a dvd etc...

Just try disabling the second graphics card and see if the problems go away, its worth a try.
