Problem solved....not exactly sure why, but I was using a PCI Express OHCI card and for some reason, it wasn't translating the HDV correctly. I went and bought a PCI OHCI card and it works great now. Perhaps since the original NX HD card was PCI based, the TS Writer only knows how to communicate with a PCI card, not a PCI Express card. Probably something GV should look into.

It has been so long since I had that problem but if I remember right, I think it was speed encoder that screwup, I think then I had to use ProCoder to make the HDV file instead, so try that and try the standard HDV encoder instead of speed encoder.

If you're on a USB drive you should be fine.
Maybe I was working on a P4 laptop and moved to Core2...
It's been a while.

I have tried opening TS Writer as stand alone and no luck. The files are on an external USB drive. Perhaps I should try them on an internal drive, but drive speed doesn't seem to be an issue.

I've had that happen, but can't recall my exact fix...
Maybe I was transferring from a 1394a drive back out another 1394a port.
I think I transferred my files to a USB or internal drive and all went well.

Yes,
The camera is in HDV mode, not Auto. I am using a generic firewire card, which should work just fine as I can capture with no problem. The HD card that came with my NX system has been sent to Canopus for repair. But the generic OHCI card should work just fine.

1) Use Speedencoder to create MPEG2 transport stream file at 1080/60i (same format as camera)
2) Open MPEG TS Writer and put the file in the list.
3) Camera is detected by XP and shows up in the list
4) Click on Write to Tape
When I follow those steps, the camera begins recording, but after 3-5 seconds, a message comes up saying "Check HDV/DV input". The writer keeps sending the stream.
Any thoughts on what is going wrong here??
I've also tried encoding it using Procoder and the camera is in HDV mode.
