  • Problem with ver 5 upgrade. Serial# won't work.

Followed the upgrade suggestions. I uninstalled 4.61 first. Ran the upgrade disc. None of the serial numbers work. I've tried 4 and 5 plus my old 4 and no luck. Keeps telling me I have the wrong serial number. I searched the forum for an answer... Haven't any found one yet. System is WinXP 32 SP2. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    Regards,
    Tom

      The cure!

This old thread has seen way too much activity over this issue.

Here's the fix found (by users) after 8 pages of forum debate...

Look in C:\Windows\system32 for pavedius.dll files, if you find any (might be 4b, 5b variants) just rename them, put an X at the beginning of the file name then try the installer and serial number.

:~) Mods, please make a sticky version!

Thanks Rusty... yes, I actually deleted a pavedius.dll and than rebooted and was able to enter the serial. Is this a problem deleting this file?

Not a problem... just an unofficial fix!
