It's pretty cool that GV included so many new filters with E5, and no doubt has the attention of a growing part of the market as a result. But for those of us who jumped into NewBlueFX in v4 I'm very pleased there's a (relatively) simple way to get your existing filters working in E5.
At present there appears to be no installer upgrade for Edius on the NewBlueFX website (although no doubt one is in the works) but I thought it would be worth playing with.
With E5 installed on a Vista x64 system NewBlueFX installs all the filters to
C:\Program Files (x86)\NewBlue\
To get them working all you need to do is copy the video filter folders from the above path to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Canopus\Edius 5\PlugIn\NewBlueFX\
For the audio filters, copy the effect folders to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Canopus\Edius 5\PlugIn\VST\
Although the VST's appear in the Pallet as they should, there appears to be a S# issue...
I'll get back on this one.
That's it! :~)
