Hi

I have a clip from my Canon HF10 that I have shot with auto WB. At some point the cam does not WB totally correctly, probably because of sunlight comming into the room and mixes with room light that then confuses the cam.

I have 2 screendumps to see the difference:

I have converted to HQ, but I want to correct the small shifts in WB.

How would you recommend me to do this? I have tried to use the WB filter, but I'm not that good yet to understand the tool 100% yet.
Maybe there is another way too?

I will of course WB manually next time. :-)

click grey balance radio button, click grey skirt of black singer on preview monitor

click white balance radio button, click white table cloth

click black balance radio button and click black top of black singer

Looks easy enough to fix.
Save your new WB settings as presets for future clips!

To add to the technique they told you I could put a cut on the clip just right when the WB starts to change. Since the camera was on auto WB there will be a short "transition" between the 2 WB looks. Put a cut right when it starts to change. Do the WB technique they mentioned on the bad section and then put a dissolve between the 2 clips. Done properly you can make it appear the WB change never happened. I have done this a few times where I would WB while the cam was running cause it went bad. Works great.
