I downloaded Edius 5 and on my Mac Pro under Bootcamp it is more responsive and I get even better real time playback than with Edius 4.6. Excellent. Couple of glitches with using FX on tracks other than V1 (some transitions pick up the video from V1 as well even if applied to video on V2 and V3). However lots of positives I am still discovering, e.g. exporter although qt exported video is ugly (although I think that is a current QT issue not Edius problem)!. Best of all? Still rock solid stability! One question I still can't change video aspect ratio for more than one clip at a time. Is that right? Or am I missing something? Great product!
