  • Audio want move down

I have been using Edius since version 1 till V4.61 , there are some things which bug the H out of me . The first is layers on the time line just climb, it just add new video and audio with out you controlling the layers, you end up with 7 or 8 layer ,this I can live with , but my biggest pain is that when I want to put music and audio down on the time line say A2 ,it will not allow me to do it . I first have to go to the end of a project and insert the clip on to A1 then I can drag it down to A2.Then move the audio to where I want to put it on A2.
I know Edius is not Adode or Avid but why can edius not split video and audio like in Adobe or other programs surly this could be programed to function better.

Well, if you make use of audio mapping it should do what you ask for.
It's just that Edius by default has video & audio audio together, but with audio mapping you can set it that V1 and A1 is automatically separated.
This goes the same way for all the V track you add after that.

Take a look at the GV training page, it is briefly explained there.

I don't understand what you mean about the layers climbing. You should be able to control how many tracks you have and where they go.

The "Render and Add to Timeline" function will often add tracks when you least expect. (I think) if a V track is unavailable, a new V track will be added. It can get annoying.
