Perfect file transfer? How?

I've been archiving my EX1 files on an external drive, which are perfect. When I copy the files onto my computer's striped drive for editing, (drag and drop from one drive to the other) I notice periodic random dropouts. (Maybe once in every 3 hours of footage.) This leads me to believe that during the copy process, small bits of info have been dropped. Is there a way to get a perfect file transfer from one drive to another?

Do a full CRC check on the copied files.

At command prompt, do
FC /B file1 file2

I prefer to use ViceVersa Pro, but I do batch copy/move/archives.
