mpeg2 to avi

I was using virtualdub mpg version to convert m2v files into avi (Canopus DV coded)...but I notice it puts jagged edges around everything almmost looks like interlacing problem?

any suggestion how to convert an m2v or mpg losless to avi?

open the m2v in Edius and then print to file Canopus DV or HQ or lossless or uncompressed
