I am seeking clarification of E5/HDstorm capabilities when inputting and outputting AVCHD.
My understanding of AVCHD is that there is a consumer format (used in Sony/Panasonic consumer cams) which goes up to 17Mbps. In Panasonic terminology these are HA, HG and HE. In addition Canon and Panasonic have introduced higher rate formats which seem to use different codecs and support up to c24Mbps. The Panasonic terminology for this is PH and is offered on their new HMC150 camera.
Does E5 support all of these formats for input? If not right now, can we expect it to do so in the near future?
Brandon has posted that E5 supports AVCHD output. Which version(s) of AVCHD are supported?
The Panasonic HMC151 brochure says that output via NLE systems should be possible to BD (BD video), DVD (AVCHD) and DVD (standard definition). Does/will E5/HDStorm support these three alternative output modes?
