For those who have a lot of plugin’s like Boris, Prodad and NewBlue the following will make it easy to install these from Edius 4 to 5
Before you install the update go to the “C:/Program Files/Canopus/EDIUS4/PlugIn” Directory
Look for the appropriate tpi file
For Boris
Boris*.tpi
Procoder
PC3*.tpi
Prodad
Prodad*.tpi
And copy to a safe place, remember to remember where as the new installation will clean out this directory and all you plug ins will have to be reloaded
Uninstall EDIUS 4 seems to be important
Install EDIUS 5 Update
NOTE: Use the E4 S/n that comes with the E5 Disk! when requested for the E4 serial
Copy the tpi files you squirreled away to the “PlugIn” directory of EDIUS 5
Go to the old EDIUS 4 “PLUGIN” Directory as above and copy or move the NewBlueFX directory to the EDIUS 5 “PLUGIN” Directory “C:/Program Files/Canopus/EDIUS 5/PlugIn”
Now for your VST’s
Copy all the files from the EDIUS 4 “PLUGIN/VST” directory to the EDIUS 5 “PLUGIN/VST” directory
Start Edius 5 and all your plugin’s and VST’s will be there
This shows the CORE program is basically sound and THUMBS UP to GV for improving the transitions, other areas of export including a Blueray authoring program as well as keeping it easy to transfer Plug ins without having to go through the process of reloading all "Plug in, Add inn and VST".
