Sound lags

It's just impossible to make a clip to the music on my computer (p-4 3,2 256Mb Radeon, RAM 2Ghz)

The sound (mp3) doesn't play correctly. If I play from the begining and if I play from the middle it plays different (more then a second) on particular part of a video.
First I thought It's I was wrong when making a klip, and then (after several remake) I saw EDIUS plays a trick to me. How to solve the problem?

Convert to .wav and you should be fine...
Your P4 will work, but barely. Go to Core2duo soon!
