DVstorm please make drivers !

I know it was annonced but...

In wedding busines here prices are very low. People dont have BD players. They are not willing to spent more money for wedding in HD.

The same situation is in Local News Production.
We have good expensive SD cameras and also we cant brodcast now in HD for now. So its not good time to move towards HD in small city News production. I think it will not change here for 2-3 years. We are not America or Japan.

So all the work is made still in SD. And I think it will take2-3 years to be economically efficient.

We have 8 DVSTORM cards in our studio. To change them at once is a great amount of money.

So if you dont write drivers for EDIUS 5 . We have to stay with 4.62. And we cant follow You i progress at least 2-3 years.

For me Its VERY SAD !!!! Because I´m with You since DVRAPTOR and Edit 1 time (10 years ???)
Please make DVSTORM available at least for SD preview in EDIUS 5.

Its not wise to force customers to stay behind.

Umm... if you are running 8 DVStorm cards and 4.6, and everything is working correctly, and you don't want to move to 5.0, you don't have to.

If you are going to stay placed in SD world, then don't upgrade. If you're afraid of missing out on the Introductory upgrade price, I say don't sweat it. By the time you're ready to move up, they'll be onto 6.x.

I HAVE to upgrade to 5.0 cos my HD camera is 1920x1080/60p and 4.6 simply can't handle it. Two other people in our office are gonna stick with 4.6 for a bit and HD will only be done on my machine here.

Just cos they say 5.0 is great, doesn't mean you need it. And understand this: if you do weddings, you probably use a lot of X-PLODE transitions. Well, they go bye-bye in 5.0, and any xplode transitions you have in existing 4.6 projects all get moved to dissolve. They have a new thing, but you'll want to finish existing projects in 4.6, less ye want to redo all ye transitions.

Yep, no need to upgrade if you are doing SD and 4.61 works fine. Either way the new EDIUS has GPU FX and you might need to upgrade your computers, so if it is not worth it then don't do it.

When the time comes you can get 8 HD STORMS :)

Sorry, it's not going to happen. Everything has a time when it is no longer viable, otherwise we'd still be using steam engines in automobiles and pagers.
