get a better GPU that message I think tells you that your card is not deemed worthy to run GPUFX.

That board is contemporary enough I should think. Are the latest ForceWare drivers installed?

Lets get some specs - RAM, driver version, Direct X version, OS...

There are three possibilities I can think of:

          1. A bug in the video drivers. Go to NVIDIA's website and download the latest WHQL-certified drivers. New ones were released a few days ago.

          2. You have a Superclocked video card, and the VRAM may be on the edge of being unstable. Try underclocking the card.

          3. Even though the card has 1GB of RAM, you may be running out of memory, especially if you use more than one display. Try reducing the screen resolution.

I'm not 100% sure how to interpret that error message, I'm not even sure that you quoted it verbatim -- it may be complaining that you are 3MB short of how much memory is needed, so I'd start with #3 above.
