Hi
That clip I used a FX1 in Amphibico's Phenom housing.
It has a 94 degree port on it.
I just used the colour wheel/balance the for most of that.
I used the WB one when I want to do a better job.
Here is another one I shot with the little Sony HDV A1 in Amphibico's EVO housing with a external 16.6 monitor on top. I just WB on whatever till I got the colour I wanted. The water was dirty and green but it came out okay.
The single CMOS cameras white balance better that the FX1 but the image is not as sharp. The FX1 and Z1 have a lower WB kelvin rating hence harder to white balance at depth.
I used allot of the new EIDUS 5 effects on this one.

Awesome.....
Terrific job, Wags. Marvelous footage, and superb color correction. 2 quick questions:
1. What camera and underwater housing are you using. Steady as a rock!
2. What setting in color correction are you using to eliminate the green muck and yet enhance the colorations of the fish and coral? When I subtract green, the yellow usually goes to terrible!
Thanks for the beautiful footage.
Cheers,
Alan

Hi Brandon
Music from http://www.jamendo.com
Acid Reflux - Eklektrix -- Jamendo - 06 - Hyper Threading
In addition to Zeropage - Ambient Pills here are 7 more tracks. The Ambient Pills Update is a bit more upbeat, but still Zeropage style! Merge both albums for a sweet electronic audio trip ;)
I think I will re encode that clip with the artists details as I was suppose to link back to them I think, it's a great site.Last edited by wags; 09-23-2008, 02:11 AM.

I use MediaCoder at home for transcoding subtitled MKV to a "hardsub" version to transfer to my TiVo in the bedroom. It works well, though I've had some trouble with the 64-bit version, so I stuck with the 32-bit version.
Hey Paul, what music is in the background?

I used Mediacoder to encode the Canopus HQ 1440/1080 file to the 960/540 H.264 CBR 1.5mbps one
Don't know why it did not work.
You do have to have it set up correct, it comes with a few different codec encoders and has many settings.
I can load up the preset I used if you like.

Thanks for sharing Wags - looks nice :-)
Which tool did you use to flash-convert?
Thanks.

Anyone else out there tried Mediacoder yet?

Over the top color seems fine in these scenes. If you could make a split-screen they may be easier to compare. (maybe next time)
Fun shots.

Marvelous footage - from one diver to another! And terrific color correction, without affecting the multi-colors of the fish. Actually, enhanced fish colors. Tell me, which of the CC filters did you use, and how did you use it - what settings did you alter.
Great job, Paul. Down under makes good pictures (pun intended!)
Cheers,
Alan

EDIUS 5 Underwater Clip
Hi
I thought I would mess around with EDIUS 5 on some underwater footage that was shot either in dirty green water or the camera was not white balanced. Some scenes may be abit over the top for colour but I was just messing around. As it plays it changes from as shot to CC.
It was cut up from raw 1440/1080 HDV m2t files all in real time even with the 3D transitions which are pretty cool and there are lots of them once you go looking. I put it together with FLASH AS3 which you can watch full screen if you have the latest flash player.
EDIUS 5 to Canopus HQ then into Mediacoder to make the single pass 960/540 CBR H.264 clip. For those that have not used Mediacoder, it's free and boy is it fast, great for QUADS. I messed around quite abit to find the best H.264 settings.
Anyhow here it is....
