I was excited to see among the new features of Edius 5 the possibility of direct import of AVC/H.264 files.
I installed the trial version of Edius 5 on one of my notebooks which I do not use otherwise for video editing and tried to import these types of files, but they were recognized by Edius 5 as only audio files.
The downgraded QuickTime (installed an earlier version of H.264 codec) plays these files on that same notebook
On my desktop PC - using Edius 4.51 - I was able to convert these files by Procoder Express after I downgraded QuickTime
Among the new features of Edius 5 it is said "
* Support for Sanyo Xacti HD file import"
Shall Edius 5 trial version do it or it cannot be done without the third party plugins?
