  • Edius 5 trial: why no manuals?

Customers love the free trial and every second phone call here is an advance order. Anyway: why didn't you include manuals in the trial? Japan included them but unfortunately my Japanese is horrible ;) Any chance to get the english manuals? TIA!

The manuals make the zip very large, so I normally put them up as a separate download. The problem is, the PDF I received had a small problem, which I am hoping will get fixed very soon.

It should be noted that this is a brand new manual, written by a native English speaker. Unfortunately, his task was simply so great, that two chapters were not completed when the product went to GM. So if it looks like the manual missed a large chunk of features - fear not - the remainder will be coming. Probably to coincide with the next 5.x service release in a month or so.

      Hi guys,

I was wondering what kind of manual is actually included with the upgrades and the full versions of EDIUS 5. Is it pdf-based only or do we get a real printed one?

The information on the website is limited to 'Quick Start Guide' only, nothing about a manual.

That's correct - the QSG is printed, the big manual is electronic.

Lezen op het toilet wordt een stuk lastiger. :)

Now THIS would be nice if we could opt to PURCHASE a printed manual (no sarcasm intended - I really mean it would be a nice option). Other companies have done this and while it would be nice to actually have the manual included in the purchase, at least this is better than tying up the printer for hours (not to mention toner cost).

With big programs like Edius, I always print the PDF manual, and in duplex to save paper.
With 500+ pages I like to have the pages in a binder more than a thick book.

There may actually be a printed manual...the product's so new so I am unfamiliar with the SKUs and options.

In any event, $10 or so at your local Kinkos/Kwik Kopy/international equivalent, will make short work of it.

Not always. I've had those places refuse as I didn't write the PDF and therefore didn't own the copyright.
                        Cheers,
