Help with v5, Please-Timeline Lock

Sorry if this is a dumb question, it has me baffled. I have Edius v5 demo installed. I've imported a clip to the bin and placed the clip on the timeline. I, then, right click the timeline track and select "Layout" from the drop down menu. EDIUS displays a small padlock on the mouse cursor and all commands are locked out, I can't even shut down. I only get a pop-up which says "Close all dialogs", but, nothing else is open.

Can anyone suggest why this is happening?

most likely your layout window is hidden somewhere outside the region of your monitor(s)...
the easiest way I can think in order to fix the problem is to create a new user profile...

layout is by default in the information box all the time now of course. Click that and see if it also shows a padlock

Thanx. I reset my profile and that fixed the "invisible" Layout window to where I can see it.
