Edius 5 & DVX

What would you recommend to a non-professional user with the system specifications below?

Upgrade (which means no more DVX - real time output to TV) or stay with Edius 4.6?

you can buy the update now that it is really cheap and use the extra plugins (vitascene, mercalli etc) with edius 4.6

Actually, I'm pretty sure that isn't going to work - the plug-ins are locked to EDIUS v5.

It probably now comes down to your current workflow and your likely direction. We're still selling EDIUS NX Express - so I'd say it's a choice between that and HDSTORM.

if that is the case then you can also upgrade the software only and buy an ACEDVio board for preview in SD monitors... It will be cheaper (not much though)

Yes, you can!

Or if you can hold out a couple more months, you can buy EDIUS with HDSPARK, for HDMI output. Then, you can have ACEDVio, HDSPARK and v5 all running together!
