I am on XP, tried typing and copying and pasting, and pasting into notepad first. All failed to accept serial number.

          It's all abit strange.
I have installed/unistalled it 3 times now on my XP (SP2) machine and once on my VISTA ultimate machine no problems using that serial.

I tried it on my laptop and everything worked great. Went to my desktop and it won't accept the serial number. I have already ordered the upgrade, but it is not available for pick up (I live in San Jose) until Friday. I will need to reinstall e4.61 to get back to working... bummer

I'm looking forward to using it on my main edit system

Duh.... so after I loooked again, I realized that I hadn't extracted the files. Even though it looks like it would run, it doesn't. As soon as I did that, everything worked fine.

The install is in progress and I am confident everything will be fine. If not, I will let you know

                    1. Someone please post a screenshot of the error message (I was asked for this)

                    2. Please provide info on your graphics configuration (card chipset, RAM, form factor, etc)

I take it you're fully extracting the archive to a folder on the disk drive first, and not just running the setupmgr.exe file from within the ZIP?

I have an EDIUS HD System. So an HP workstation. But I have upgraded the CPUs and using a different video card since. Got it in 2005.

Using an nVidia 8800 GTX (testing GPU video encoding using CUDA technology), 2GB of RAM, 2.5TB FibreChannel RAID,

                            Of course.

Adding words since "of course" is too few words to post....what it says when I hit submit reply!

So here is what worked for me

Just to be more specific about the error that I made. I downloaded the trial version into the DL folder. Then I double clicked the icon. It opened up into what looked to be several icons and an Edius folder. Actually, when you double click the icon with the zipped files, it opens up to 4 file folders (Edius, fscommand, settings, and tools) and 3 icons (autorun, setup, setup manager). The folders have icons and files inside of them. This is why I could easily think that I had extracted the files.

Later, I looked at it again and realized that I hadn't actually extracted the files. (in Windows it says "Folder Tasks - Extract all files) So I extracted them, went through the process and entered the serial number again. It took the serial number this time and installed normally.

It was only after I actaully went through the unzip process that I got the serial number to work and was able to proceed with the installation.

I tried it again today and it worked the same. I got the same error screen that you got.

Hope this helps at least some of you

                              Dianne

I unzipped mine using WinRAR. I stay as far away from the Windows Unzipping system as I can. Mine is unzipped. I am 10000000000000% sure.
