  • Upgrade pricing for Edius 5

Having spent £250 upgrading to Broadcast 4.6 a few months ago to support my new XDCAM EX Footage, will there be seperate pricing to upgrade from edius 4 pro and edius 4 broadcast ?

thanks and congratulations on the new version and announcements.

is there any information on the BLU hardware encoder board ?

    thanks,
    Stephen

I purchased Edius 4 on 15th August 2008. Am I eligible for a free upgrade to Edius 5 here in Australia under the same conditions offered in North America & Europe?

      Regards Phil C.

Thanks Mate! I was just trying to get the hang of Version 4 but it's a nice bonus, eagerly waiting for the upgrade form...

I purchased Edius Broadcast over a year ago, directly from Thompson/Grass Valley. I registered my software immediately upon receipt. I can no longer find my sales invoice, and this seems to be a paperwork requirement to qualify for the upgrade to v5.

Where can I get a copy of my sales invoice? Is this the ONLY way I can prove to GV that I am the original purchaser of Edius? If so, I will not pay full retail for an upgrade to v5.

Did you register on Line? If so, it should be listed in your products registered section of the Canopus website. I am pretty sure that will suffice for proof.
It can be checked very easily at that point.

I hope you are right, I registered online, but very bad with paper work, I probably will have a very hard time finding the paper invoice.

Do you see it in the product registry? If it is there, they should have it.

Don't panic - just pick up the phone and call the office during business hours. We'll sort it out. :)

And the upgrade offers are world-wide offers. It's just that some territories have a form, and some require you contacting a reseller.

Since we have to qualify each direct sale of an upgrade with a previous version of EDIUS, you will not be able to purchase the upgrade online.

                              Yet.

I'm trying to figure out how to make this work to save us a bit of time on the processing side.

                              For North American customers:
If you bought your qualifying previous version from us directly, don't worry about providing a sales invoice for the upgrade form--we'll be able to see the sale in our system attached to your account, as well as the product registered in your account, because all good EDIUS users always register their software. ;D
On the flip side of that, if you claim to have bought from us direct, and the sale is not in our system, you'll absolutely need to have a sales receipt to accompany the upgrade form.
