Regarding Titlemotion Pro, apparently it is incorporated in with the third party software package. The information below is taken from the Edius 5 info page. This really is incredible value and together with incorporation of Edius Broadcast makes the upgrade to Edius 5 a real no-brainer decision.

    Bundled Software:

NewBlue video filters: Art Effects, Film Effects and Motion Effects
ProDAD video effects and image stabilization: VitaScene and Mercalli Expert
iZotope VST audio plug-ins: Audio Effects Suite, AudioRestore, AGC and Mastering Effects Suite
Corel DVD and Blu-ray authoring: DVD MovieFactory
Inscriber titling: TitleMotion Pro for EDIUS
Artbeats SD and HD stock footage and graphics

I'm just learning DVDlabpro because of the clumsiness of DVDworkshop2, now we get MovieFactory ???

I hope they overhauled TMP as it doesn't play nice with Chinese characters etc.

But to be fair, the third party goodies look attractive, and together with the new and improved features in Edius 5, will give lots of users the urge to upgrade and / or stay away from competitors.

They even allow upgrades from version 1.x at special rate, very smart !

Really not sure that Title Motion Pro gets to run with this upgrade if you were to upgrade from say version 1-3, from version 4 it should be ok (if it worked in that version for you)

Footnote: I installed Vista 64 bit and can not install the Title Motion PRO licence from version 3 for some reason, it does not see the software on disc. I know it's there because i had previously installed on a 32 bit OS.

This sounds like an awesome software upgrade which addresses many user concerns, and the hardware render boards will (hopefully) give us efficient HD production like we had with DVStorm for SD. It's been a long time coming, but this could be the version of Edius which finally "puts it on the map". Kudos to all involved for getting us to this point!

The price of the Blu-ray encode board has me very suspicious, it's too cheap.

Is there a price listed somewhere, and if so what is it?

Oh, sorry, my bad. I know but (maybe) it's not meant to be known yet.

                  Mark,
Is it an add on board or a stand alone card?

Jerry, it's PCI-e standalone like FireCoder, due December.

I just wonder how compliant the files really are (at the price) compared to others I also know of coming form Sorenson (at their price).

The Sorenson version is fairly expensive, right?
It will be curious. Look at the compliancy issues people have with the presets that are available now with Procoder 3 (not due to the software in most cases). Hardware will be faster, but will it produce a good compliant product.
Personally, I would like to see Procoder 3 add extra passes to the mix. More than 2 pass on certain things, especially with faster computers and Nehalem on the horizon, would be a piece of cake.

                        version 5 alpha support

Hello, will this new version of Edius (5) support export of alpha channel? I couldn't find any mention in the specs.

                        thanks
