I missed several other things, so I may have missed something there as well.
I typed and copied into the panel and got the install real serial number panel.

Mind when you're cutting and pasting that the browser isn't adding a space character to the end - happens a lot.

I have computers that can run Vista easily but just need more RAM. If there will be no performance increase it sound like upgrading the graphics cards are the best upgrade path. I have a geForce5600 256mb in my AMD dually and a 8500GT with 256mb in my Intel Quad system. Will 512GPU Ram make a huge difference if I am not using many of the new GPU transitions. I pretty much stick to the old Canopus standard transitions for 90% of my work.

I can answer that from experience. This is with XP. I have Vitascene. I also was using a Quadro FX 1500 256mb in the system. I had issues on many of the effects while using a 1920x1080 preset. Thats what I work in all of the time.
I sent the little code trouble shooting panel to PRODAD and they replied that in order to have the effects in that preset I would need at least 512mb.
So, I pulled the Quadro with 256 and went to a PNY 8800gts 512 and it works great on Vitascene and Xplode. Now that Xplode is officially history, and GPUFX is the way we are moving, the 512mb mark should be your minimum.
The 512 mark is for GPUFX. If you are not using those AT ALL, you should be fine with what you have. That is unless those (standard effects) have been rewritten as well. KH would know that.

Ive had problems with HD footage (720p, 24f) in Edius when I change the project settings to 480i so I can export/print/record the project to NTSC video tape or DVD. The problem I exerience is alot of stair stepping, jiggly lines, anti ailiasing when there are busy patterns or thin lines in the video footage. I understand this is a progressive to interlaced conversion problem. Problem also was there when exporting/converting via Procoder Express. Has this been improved upon at all with Version 5?

I've been bench testing Edius 5 for over a week now on Vista x64 Ultimate and the results are exceptional. Review can be found on the following website http://www.redgumtv.com.au
More results when I've trialled the HDStorm.

I'll go over for a read...

It loads up in no time and feels faster than 4.61.
                    Has 1920/1080 24 or 25p presets
Rips through raw 1920/1080p MXF XDCAM files.... like editing DV.
Realtime 3D fades and stuff even with HDV footage.

I dropped a raw 1920/1080 24p AVCHD file on the timeline and it even edited that at full res be it at about 15-20fps. Good enough for simple cuts, just clunky to edit with.

Print to DVD is much more responsive.
Quick Title opens up fast and I get full screen overlay in realtime.
