Sweet stuff in there. Do all those 3rd party apps listed at the bottom come with it? I assume internal changes have been made that make these plug-ins really work well with appropriate graphics cards.

What graphic cards will work best with the new GPU processing? Is that all listed somewhere.
Main System. MSI G33m Motherboard, Intel Q6600 CPU, 2GB Ram, GeForce 9500GT, 7200rpm System drive. WinXP. Lots of external eSATA drives.

Laptop. Sony Vaio. CPU- i7-Gen 3, 8gb RAM, 1tbb 5400rpm hard drive, AMD GPU

I believe it lists the requirement of the particular video card. Pixel Shader 3.0 is required.

In the specs. As Jerry said, Pixel Shader Model 3.0 - essentially any DirectX 9 or higher card should be fine. Anything from the last 18 months.

And make sure it has lots of video RAM. The more, the better.

You mentioned the New BlueFX and Vitascene were 'different' versions just for Edius. How so? Is it the yuv to rgb to yuv redo?

I think its more along the lines of they can't be run outside of EDIUS (ie. won't function in PPro, Vegas, etc). I will see if there's any technical differences..

Yes! It's a $1000 worth of plug-ins that you get with any EDIUS 5 package (software only, software upgrade, HDStorm, etc.)

Yes, though if you don't have a qualifying product in your user account product registry (that I can see when placing the order), you'll need to fill out and send in the upgrade form (found here) and provide that information for the order. It'll take a few days to process, but you'll get your upgrade then.

(That was mostly for everyone else, Jerry. I know you've got a huge list of qualifying products)

Just curious....will performance be any better with Vista installed instead of XP or will it just work with Vista now but not really any more efficiently than XP. Just trying to figure if I should upgrade systems to XP. With 3 computers to upgrade it could get costly quick.

Is it still dongle driven so the sneakernet is still an option?

I wouldn't upgrade to Vista unless you're buying a new system, or have a system that was already capable of running Vista. Simply put, each new operating system will come with its own overheads - something you don't want to interfere with your RT performance.

Having Vista support is important, since it allows brand new machines to run EDIUS without downgrading the OS. It also provides the 64-bit option.

                          Yes. One dongle only.

Hey looks great, downloading demo now.... but I'll be upgrading for sure.

I have been messing around with Vista Ultimate on my other computer, it actually runs alright if you install it from fresh yourself with SP1. You do need to get in there and turn all those security / pop ups messages rubbish off though.

Let me know if the serial number works. I kept getting the install real serial number panel.

Does any body know if Dave Laborde did a Vista Tweak Optimaization article yet?
