DVC who built and supplied my previous Matrox and curent Edius computers produce really excellent training DVDs. They provide them with every system they sell but I'm sure they'll be happy to supply them separately. Whatever they charge it's a bargain because I found it invaluable to get started. Then of course this GV Forum invariably answers specific problems.

DVC is based in Portslade in the UK. Their site is http://www.dvc.uk.com

The lack of third party teaching materials (DVD, books, online resources) especially here in the German speaking market scares away quite a few potential customers from looking into Edius.

I have the Mike's Class on Demand DVD. I was wondering if there is anything else available. I know Edius doesn't have as many materials available like FCP or Premiere, but I couldn't find anything besides Mike's ( and the manuals of course).

If this is the case what you need to do is get Mike Downey's DVD. It is excellent and you will learn a lot from it. Also I would be surprised if the interface changes a great deal with the next version. One of the things I like about the Edius software is that with the exception of Rex Edit the interface has stayed fairly similar. I think it would be a mistake to make a drastic change in the interface because that would give long time Edius users the chance to jump ship or try another editing platform. I for one have been a Canopus/Edius/GV end user and supporter since the beginning and really do not have time to learn a new interface at this time.

    Get Mike's DVD....

That's not nice to say that you expect bugs ............ I would never say / write that, I'll just wait..... and see.....

The only classes that I know off are the ones that Mike Downey does for stations and large vendors. Also, I'm sure there will be some Demos at IBC and NAB always has them.
