Didn't even hear that! CS4 is around the corner - it won't be long before the same Edius realtime performance will be incorporated into Premiere and other Video editing programs who are moving forward with technology. Seems Edius had such an opportunity but now is at a stand still.

Ironically, there is a possibility that Vista support in Edius will become available just as Vista's succcessor (Windows 7) makes its appearance.

If you read other threads where there have been a lot of hints that have been dropped lately, it would appear that the next update (or some type of announcement) is right around the corner

CS4 Design Premium is around the corner. Afaik, After Effects CS4 are not here yet. I always upgrade anyways but never use Premiere.

I don't think those other NLE's are going for what EDIUS is going for. EDIUS right now is mainly used in TV stations, event editing, and other areas. I do think that it's fully capable of doing other things. I've personally cut complex documentaries on it without a problem.

                  Steve,
Was it 64bit? Or is Photoshop CS4 the only 64bit app in the package?

Also Dave BBC in the UK and quite a few other stations use Premiere and have also had a bit of input into the new CS4 Bundles. I also found out last night that ABC 2 in Australia are now using final Cut Pro because of the cost factor and Mac based ect.

                    Cheers

Around the corner = late october :)

Anyways, the OSX version of Photoshop is not going to be 64bit. Which is what I was looking for.
AECS4 I'm not sure yet....they dropped PowerPC support so it might come true.

Did you hear any prices batted around for upgrades. I know the last upgrade was $800. The old upgrades were in the $250 range before the move to CS3.
I did read that October 1st was the magic date.
