With the price of the SP board around $1600-1800 and the Edius Broadcast software included, is there a reason to purchase the NX board? Aside from the extra few hundred bucks. Is the performance similar?
Thanks
Chris

What are you wanting to capture? The board does not do HD capture through the composite inputs. So either way you will be capturing HD by firewire, at least straight into Edius.
You do get xlr balanced audio and rs232 support with the SP. I was going to buy that board but the price then was in the $3000-$4000 range. If you can get the SP for $1600, I would probably go the way of SP. What were the NX prices with purchasing Broadcast? If it was close, go SP. If not, and you need a board now, go NX.
I personally would wait until after September 12, IBC happens, and see what comes from there. There is a new version of Edius on the horizon. That meaning sometime in the second half of the year.
I have been recommending to people to wait to make their respective decisions for purchasing anything until after the release. If you do need a board now, you can always buy the upgrade. You just get more dongles. Edius 4.6 updates, I believe, are a thing of the past. So look at it that way.
If you are working in SD, the SP board would work better due to the analog capture inputs and xlr balanced audio. For HD, either the SP or NX will work the same. It will come down to the price point.
I currently have the NX and the Intensity Pro and like both for the strengths of each.
I do know Anton has an SP board. He may chime in on this thread to give you more info. Otherwise, you could pm him to get his opinion on the board.
