TURBO works exclusively with MPEG-2 when ingesting and using content for playout, so whether the input is from an external device, or a file-based input, it all goes to MPEG-2.

And yes, it definitely is a great piece of equipment. :)

The Turbo iDDR starts at about $10k in North America. You'll have to contact a TGV Pro AV reseller in your area. You can find a list of dealers here. Be sure that the dealer you contact lists the Turbo as one of the products they sell--not all TGV dealers carry all TGV products.

There's no real workflow for SDI-to-MPEG-2 with EDIUS. In fact, the 'cheapest' TGV solution I can think of is the TURBO iDDR.

started a topic EDIUS and MPEG2

    EDIUS and MPEG2

Hi, I need to capture from a Digibeta deck via SDI directly to a muxed MPEG2 file at 15MBps with CBR and then be able to drop this file into a drop box. Is this possible on Edius without any transcoding or rendering? The MPEG2 files are not being used for DVDs.

    Thanks
Working...
