  • Squeezed output from Edius

Here's one for you seasoned veterans! I have a Storm 2 Pro and am still using Edius 2.5. (Yeah, I know it's old) It has been working fine until I did some software upgrades, including installing Adobe Premier Pro CS3. Now the output from Edius has the picture squeezed in on the sides with black on each side. The output from Storm Edit is normal (4:3). I assume that something happened with the software upgrades to affect Edius. Any ideas?

Next question: Is there a third party driver that will let Storm work with Premier Pro CS3?

Thanks in advance for any help from the forum.

      Upgrades??

The software upgrades were primarily windows. Also the video driver for nVidia Geforce FX5700 Video Card and as I stated from Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 to CS3.

It's hard to understand why any of these singled out Edius and not the other products. But then that's why I'm asking this forum.

      Thanks

You could try changing the Storm 'Project Settings'. Sometimes tha helps...they might have been offset .anything is possible.......I still cant understand why someone would want Edius and PPr at the same time....well, different folks, different strokes

          Settings

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried changing the project settings, but no help.
I actually started with Canopus when they came out with the first system, Raptor. Then to the amazing Rex and then Rex RT. Then came three later systems with Storm, Storm Edit and then Edius. It got to the point with Edius 2.5 that it did everything I wanted and then I jumped off. I love Canopus! (errrr GV)

          Anyone else have any ideas?

Tried a reinstall of the DVStorm driver series from the EDIUS 2.5 archive? (referred to as the 'Canopus DV Driver')

I'd like to know what else is classed under "...did some software upgrades..."

              Drivers for Edius 2.5 ??

Thanks for the idea. Can you post the link to the driver you suggested? I tried to find the file, but was unable to locate it.

              Thanks

It's on the EDIUS 2.5 CD or in the updater if you have an update.

No problem. I just wish I knew what got broken in the first place. Prevention is always better than cure..
