How to convert MPEG4 AVC/H.264 files to Canopus HQ avi

I tried to convert with Procoder Express (3.01.13.00) full HD files shot by a Sanyo VPC HD1000 camcorder. 2 of the 5 files I succeeded to convert to Canopus HQ avi but the other 3 did not go through. PE stopped with exception at a certain point , at the same file always at the same point.
I tried to convert them by Vegas Pro 8, but it said the for the Canopus HQ that it was not suitable codec for the set (1920x1080 50i) format.
All the 3 files can be viewed by either Media Player or Quick Time.
I use for multicam editing Edius 4.54 which does not recognize these .mp4 files.
Can somebody suggest me a solution?

Open the file that can't be converted in QuickTime and hit Ctrl+I for the info panel to come up. Take a screenshot and post it here (Select the window, hold Alt+PrtScrn, then paste[Ctrl+v] that into Windows Paint and save it as a JPEG and attach it here)

A couple of things you can try:

1. Export the file from QuickTime into a format that EDIUS can accept
2. See if the file can be read in by the latest AVCHD2HQ converter app
3. Wait for the next version of EDIUS (which increases the range of native H.264 formatted files) :)

I installed QuickTime Pro and tried to convert my AVC/H.264 files by it, but in the meantime most probably I did something wrong, because now I cannot watch even with QuickTime Pro any of the files taken by my Sanyo VPC HD 1000.
What is more Procoder Express is also just shows a green screen when I try to convert any of the AVC/H.264 files even in the case of those, which earlier I was able to convert to Canopus HQ AVI by PE.
On the same PC, Mediaplayer Classic with installed ffdshow codec is able flawlessly to play all of these files.

I installed fresh onto a notebook Windows XP proffessional with SP3 and Edius 4.6 trial. Then I tried to convert by PE these AVC/H.264 files to Canopus HQ AVI, but I also had just green screen at the viewer of PE.
Intalled QuickTime Pro, it also shows just a green screen and plays only the sound.

I assume that somehow the above programmes do not select the right codec, but I cannot find where the problem can be.

On my desktop PC I use Edius 4.51 without any problem for multicam editing up to 6 simultaneous tracks.
I would appreciate if you had a suggestion what should I do?

Try to install codecs with : FFDshow (supports mp4, H264).
Perhaps , then , convert footages with MP4CAM2AVI (free) before using AVCHD2HQ converter.

Fortunately, one of my collegues found out the cause of the problem:
The reason why Procoder Expres could not convert the AVC/H.264 files to Canopus HQ AVI is that Quicktime latest versions have a bug which makes quictime unable to play full HD H.264 files. Because Procoder Express uses Quicktime to decode H.264 PE was also unable to convert these files.

The solution is to downgrade the H.264 codec in QuickTime to for eg: 7.1.5 version.
Then QuickTime will play the files and Procoder Express can convert the to Canopus HQ
