  • Best AC3 encoder for newbie?

Something simple that does the job but allows even an intelligent novice to tweak a few settting so prevent those volume drop-offs and so on.

    Anyone have any thought?

    IS this too technical?

Or if you can wait for v4.5 of EDIUS, that will have AC3 encoding as well (yes, you can output AC3 alone directly from the timeline).

thanks guys. I will get Edius 4.5 but I can't wait until then.

I tried the free ffmpeg encoder, but the audio stream is out of synch with the video. 1/2 a sec or so.

          tearing my hair out here!!

Tmpeg 4 Xpresss is the best I know at the lowest price, approx 1 carton of beer

the free ones are free for a reason, they don't work perfect
