Basic Audio Question

I finally received my new Edius laptop and have been experimenting and learning the software for a day or so. I do have a basic audio question. When I have a clip that I want to bring down to the timeline I would like to be able to use (see) both channels of audio in stereo (I have two stereo audio channels). I can't figure out how to accomplish this. If I right click on 1A it gives me the option of Stereo Channel 1,2. That seems to be bringing both audio channels to one audio timeline. I would prefer to be able to split the audio so I can manupulate each stereo channel independently. Ideas?

Don't know if this helps but if you click on the VOL button until it changes to the PAN rubber band control. This gives you L and R channels.

Thanks for your reply. i tried what you suggested however I'm still only getting audio out of one speaker for each audio channel. I must have a setting incorrect or I'm doing something wrong?

2 channels split:

1 right clik on 1A an choose Mono 1 1
right click on 2A 2 2

or:
2 map project to bring audio down to ch 1 to A1 and CH2 to A2

or
Save Preset with V track only with audio to A1 and A2

or right click on any track go to properties and choose mono 1 or mono 2 depeding on what you want to hear.

I tried your first suggestion. The problem is it does bring down both audio channels but I can only hear each channel through one speaker. When edited with My Canopus Storm system what i used to do in the same type of situation was to right click and copy left or right and that would give me stereo on each track and then I could set my levels. I still think there must be a way to do this. Suggestions? Thanks.

1 alt+ enter on the track on A1
choose mono 1 on the audio on track 1

2 alt+ enter on the audio on 2A chose mono 2

Map the output of the sequence so that:
A1 goes out to 1 and 2
A2 goes out 1 and 2

If you visit the Edius training site there are some how to documents. I I remember correctly Kenneally did a nice document on audio mapping/ channel selection.
