I don't think I will make it this time. Maybe next year.

    I have a Phoenix Server Bios - does'nt find a toggle too.
    Prodad support answered:
"this is an info message and not an error message" "and Vitascene should work as expected"

Many of the ProDad products are GPU intensive - particularly Vitascene. We've found that whilst they work as a stand alone quite well they often report errors or crash when used as a plugin both in Edius and Adobe. Mind you, this appears quite common with software that uses GPU technology.

I also bought a similar 1GB video card and while Edius is vastly improved Vitascene reports insufficient memory. Prodad advises that I have problem with "shared" memory and to make a change in the BIOS. On inspection my BIOS doesn't have a video memory toggle. (that I could find) It seems to me that was an older scheme to get more memory from PCI/AGP video cards.

Or check if there is an updated ATI driver -- 90+% of the time it's a driver problem.

Don't think so, 1GB of ram shouldn't make a difference at all, I would contact ProDad support to find out more about the card.

    Cheers

Wow, that's a nice card, but way overkill if you work with Edius alone.

The 1.5 Gb ram will last you a long time, until directX 11, or a new version of pixel shader will be released.

If you use any serious 3D software this would be a good choice, for Edius Alone NO.

p.s je geld is beter besteed aan processor kracht & video raid, daar heb je meer aan.

Over 12iches long, these are a big card, you want to make sure it will fit ok.

The GTS has a little added punch to it. It isn't realtime but for most 1 sec transitions I can get buffer prefill play through.
