Does Edius support all the resolutions the Panasonic HVX200A can record? The 720 AND 1080 ones? I couldn't tell from the webpage or docs.

Yes it does, all resolutions, framerates and recording modes (I, P, PN, PA).

Do you need the intra-frame plugin for any of the HVX200A P2 modes? I know the plugin is for Panasonic, but not which camera. I'm on the verge of buying both a new camera and new Edius so trying to get all I need at one time (only need to explain to wife once).

You don't need it. That camera does not do intra as far as I know.
the Hpx 2000 and 3000 can record in that format.

Yep, only the HPX2000/3000 and the newer Varicam's will do AVC-Intra.
