  • Auto display original date in timeline

    Hallo there,

Just wondering if it is possible to auto display the recorded date of the original captured material into a clip on the timeline.

I'm capturing lots of DV tapes and burn them directly to DVD. The client wants to have the recorded date displayed in the screen.
For example "Fryday 15 July 2008".
Rather than do this manually for every individual clip, I don't see other options.
I know that it is possible to display the timecode of the timeline using the "Print to file(display timecode)" function but that is not what I want.

Hope there is a quicker way

    Regards,

    Gerrie

RecDate is available within the application settings, under Customize->Overlay.

This merely shows the date in dd/mm/yy format though - it won't list the actual day's name. Something like that requires titling.

Cool it works, I feel stupid.
        This forum is fast.
        Thanx Brandon.

p.s. hope this work also for the print to DVD function.

Sorry - doesn't work for Print to DVD.
          For that you could...
          • Create an MPEG-2 stream with Print to file (display timecode) then bring that into a new Sequence and Print to DVD with SegmentEncode enabled (make sure you choose DVD-compliant settings when making the MPEG stream)
          • Create a Canopus HQ or Canopus Lossless version with Print to file (display timecode), then bring it back into the timeline and Print ot DVD.
          • Use ProCoder Express for EDIUS to create the DVD (if you don't need menus)

Been wanting this feature for years, don't tell me it was available in Edius 3.0?

            Thanks,

            Regards Phil C.
