  • print to DVD

I not sure what has gone wrong but if I use the print to dvd, the end dvd will have playback problems such as very short moments where the playback will change speed. If I was using chapters you could repeate the issue on several different trys. I even see this problems with out chapters. I use a pioneer 112D, 215D and a plextor 716 with Taiyo Yuden TYGO2's. I have a Intel Q6700, Intel DP35 M/B, ATI 1950 V/C w/512mb, Kingston DDR2-800 4gb. Windows XP sp3. I like the easy way you can chapter in edius with markers and print to DVD but I cant use it. I export to file using pro coder and then use sonic dvdit pro hd.

did you untick the auto datarate, you need to set video to 7700 max and audio to dolby digital 256

make sure you burn no faster than 6x with TYG02

I don't remember what I had the video set to as I tried several different settings. I know I did not set or try any audio chances. Last I always burn at 4x or 6x.
I have gone back to 4.50 and saw the problem, Tried 4.51, 4.6 and 4.61 again still have the problem. Only thing I have noticed is that with the print to dvd the encoding is much faster then the encoding with pro coder.

        Up-Date:
I set the video bit rate to 7.7 mbs and audio to ac3 Doby Digital 256 and still had the same playback problems with the playback speed changing. When this occures it is for only a 1/2 second at the most but is still a problem I need to get away from.

have you tried different DVD players? if so, does the same problem happen on all?

I personally don't use DVD creator because of the poor menu text quality which looks like the text was attacked by mice

Well a different DVD player was the only thing I had not tried until now, in my son's playstation 3 the problem DVD works fine and I also tried it using Windows Media Player on my computer and again it works fine.
Thank You for your help. I guess I will get a new DVD player (maybe a Blue-Ray).
Any idea why any DVD burned with Edius gives my DVD player this problem.

            Again, Thank You

That's the thing I hate about DVD creator.......what I do is create vob files, and burn in either Nero or NTI....If I want menus and the fancy stuff, i use Ulead Movie Factory, and do my thing there.....

I have to say that I do not trust the DVD creator inside of Edius.

I have tried it and have been burned one to many times with playback errors.

The end product with CBR 7000 on TY discs either has a slight stutter every now & then or the latest was on a looping DVD, plays for four loops then breaks up and stops altogether.

I have always used PCE + Encore but tried print to DVD because it is faster.

But not again because it is not worth risking your client looking at you like you don't know what you are doing.

I have the "scratch" drive set to its own drive that only has the XP pagefile on it BTW.

Again I want to thank you for all your info, I was starting to think it was me not edius, but now I know and will use either dvd workshop 2 or dvdit pro hd. The Edius marker/chapter use in print is a time saver but I need it to be reliable.
