  • Installing NX cards on GA-X48 DQ6 MB

I have (finally) my new computer whith the Gigabyte Ga-X48 DQ6 Motherboard.

But, unless the MB has 3 PCIe 1x slots and 2 PCIe 16 x slots , I have problems to get the NX-cards in the system.

    The problems are:
The main board can only be place in the second 16x slot, this because the first PCIe 1x slot, the Memory modules block the card.
The videocard (asus 8600GT 512Mb silent) is placed in the first 16xslot and takes two slots, so the second PCIe 1 slot is coverd by the videocard.
The thirth PCIe 1x slot, can only be just whith the expansion board. The Main board is to long and the I get problems whith the heatpipe and the SATA connector.
The second PCIe 16x slot is OK for use the Main board.

    So the only contiguration is:
The mainboard in the second PCIe 16 slot, and the expansion board in the first or thirth PCIe 1x slot.

BUT: can I put the mainboard in a 16X slot????

Here, you can find the layout of the board

    Please any advice is welcome!

Yes you can put main board in 16X PCI-E slot. You could also try placing your graphics board in the 2nd PCI-E 16X slot & your NXE in the first PCI-X 16X slot, this way you will only loose 1 x PCI below the graphics card which you probably wont need (this would all depend on the resource sharing of the PCI-E bus for this M/Board), I dont know this M/Board but from a glance at the layout you also seem to be stuck for a PCI-E 4X slot for RAID expansion.

      Blurry output NX

OK, I have the NX running.

Edius 4.61 Installed, and so far I say now al is running OK.

The only thing what wonders me is that the preview on my preview monitor is looking a little bit blurry.
Especailly with pans or tilts it's very blurry and not smooth.
In my old situation, output from firewire through camera the preview was sharp en smooth.

My projects settings are :SD PAL 720x576 50i 16:9 44.1kHz
Any settings I have to change?

I did placed the cards as follow in the slots:
      1. PCIe 1x expansionboard (firecoder)
      2. PCIE 16X Videocard (8600GT 512Mb Silent)
      3. PCIe 1x blocked by videocard
      4. PCIe 1x Free (not used because of heat VGA card)
      5. PCIe 16X Mainboard
      6. PCI Free
      7. PCI Free
