  • Vista DOA ?

I may be wrong, but a recent article in PC magazine seemed to indicate that Vista was a flop and that a new version Windows 7 was coming out that would be back wards compatible with XP. If this is true, I hope that the engineers working on 5.0 have not concentrated on Vista so much as to delay the next big upgrade.

I wish that they would work on the HD/SD conversion artifact problem so that we would not have to go outside of Edius/Procoder to eliminate the artifacts.

I am sure glad I stayed with XP.

It may or may not be DOA but I have never heard so many negative comments or poor reviews of a new release operating system. All new OS's are more resource hungry than we are used to. XP was the same way as was 95 but Vista just seems to be hated for its design and functionality.

Isn't there a way in Vista to make it look and feel like XP. I had someone last night complain to me that they didn't like the way Vista functioned with mundane tasks. I thought I heard somewhere you could make the Vista interface look like XP. I may be wrong.

        Vista

Here is the Mcrosoft site explaining the mechanics of old and new OS'.

Win XP will be around until 2014. They have the results of polls taken in regard to Vista on this site but frankly, I don't believe them. It's all about $$$! Vista too will be fazed out as the need to sell and take in money exceeds the excellence of any current OS. The entire video manfacturing and related software industry have and continue to push new technology, not out of necessity but to pull in more income. XP is an outstanding OS and could continue to serve us for many years but it's all about $$$$.

Save the Vista FUD discussions for somewhere else.

The next version of EDIUS will work just fine in Vista and XP.
