  • Still Image Quality

When grabbing a still image with "control T", is there a way of adjusting the quality of the image, as right now I can only get 648x480 = 47.5 kb. The aspect ratio is also not right when using this file in ULead as a Title Page.

To export a still image via F11, comes up with the same quality as well, and with aspect ratio unchecked, it's 720x480 = 53.1 kb.

None of these are the right aspect ratio to use in ULead. I use the first frame of my video as a title page in ULead and when I press play the aspect ratio changes. How can I manipulate the aspect ratio to match ULead.

    Thanks,
    Ted

go to plugin settings, still image exporter and set to an uncompressed format, ideally tga or tif or bmp

set to frame for highest resolution

Thanks Anton for the quick reply.

The quality is a lot better. Only the aspect ratio hasn't changed. It still jumps when I press play. Do you know the aspect ratio of the Pro Coder MPG? By the jump it looks like 648x485. I never had this problem in Adobe.

It's not that big a deal, but once I know it, it annoys me every time.

        1. right click the clip on timeline and see if it is 4:3 or 16:9 and see what is says its pixel size is

        2. click the down arrow on the save icon and go to project settings, report what the project setting is set to

The Ulead DVD WS2 menu size is 768x576. I used to just stretch a timeline image when I used WS2. Square pixels as opposed to 4:3 pixels

            1. The aspect ratio is 0.9000 (4:3) and the size is 720x480. Under aspect ratio it gives me numerous options. Should I be changing that?

            2. The project setting is:
            Frame size: 720 x 480
            Pixel aspect: 0.9000
            Over Scan Size: 0%

Under Project settings: The Output Format is set at 720x480 59.94i 4:3
Would it make any difference if I changed it to: 720x486 59.94i 4:3

Please let me know what you think,

              you settings are correct

it appears that you wish to export a still with square pixel aspect in order to use in orther software

in this case, go to still image exporter settings and tick the maintain aspect box, this will export with square pixel aspect
