  • Stabilizing shaky video footage

    Hi everyone,

I have some shaky video footage, which was shot without using a
tripod. About 2 minutes of stable footage and some shaky footage.
Is there any software available to correct shaky video. If so what's
the name of it and where can I find it.

    Thank's
    Mitch-K

One that is mentioned frequently is ProDAD's Mercalli -- it is an Edius plugin with quite a few customization options.

        ProDAD's Mercalli

Is fantastic - BUT play with the presets and the fine adjustments together - This application has saved my bacon a few times;-)

Use the ProDAD's Mercalli, I did a review on Mercalli and it's a great product, but as mentioned fine tune the settings a bit.

          Cheers

Do you have a favorite setting for Mercalli? One that works well all around for most scenarios?

Not really, I don't use it that much to be honest, try a few of the settings and see which one works best for you, sorry I couldn't be more help.

                Cheers

Best setting, use a tripod or steadycam.
If used with good quality HD video, it looks pretty good downresed to SD. SD to SD, well, go to first statement.
