Editing From a HD camera

Hi - I am new to this forum, it's all changed since I was last on the Canopus Forum. Anyway, I'm editing with DV Storm 2 and my camera is a Sony PD170.
I need to shoot a job in HD. Can anybody tell me what I need including telling me what system requirments I need please?

Well... if the HD Camera you are going to use has firewire you can capture the footage in the HQ codec to a generic Firewire port on your computer and edit with that.

Be warned that you will have no output to an external monitor unless you place the footage in a SD 16:9 project.

Editing in a SD 16:9 project will give you more realtime editing along with output to a NTSC Monitor.

When you are ready to output a HD file you will need to change the project settings to the proper HD settings and then you need to make sure that all graphics and titles are the right size and in the right place before you output it. :)

Mark,
The Sony PD170 is SD camera NOT HD ... However you can set up 16:9 for shooting and edit project in 16:9 (I'm using NX with Edius).

I think Mark was asking what he needs to do HD?

For one, an HDV camera like the Sony HVR-V1U...and an EDIUS NX, for example...and of course a new PC is in order and lots of storage space to store Canopus HQ files.
