  • New pc -> DvStorm2 / Edius 4 installation

    Hello,

I've bought a brand new pc. It's running XP SP3. Everything looks fine. I've installed my Dvstorm2 card in a pci slot. Windows has found this card i installed it with the newest drivers i've found on canopus.com.

When fire up Edius or MPEGCapture, i can edit and capture, but only the dedicated video monitor is working. The preview on the normal pc monitor isn't..
When I drag the MPEGCapture window a little bit, a frame will appear. Same with Edius, the preview does only show a frame, and when I press somewhere on the timeline the frame changes..

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

    Regards,
    Gert-Jan

Sounds like a video card driver issue. What video card does it have?

If it's Nvidia click here: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

    For ATI : http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html

The videocard is an Asus EN8600GT 512MB PCI-Express.
I will try to install new drivers..

Driver is not the problem. Newest driver was already installed.
I've uninstalled service pack 3... maybe that will help..

It sounds like an overlay problem. Usually driver or DirectX related.

Take a look at this thread http://ediusforum.grassvalley.com/fo...ead.php?t=7120

            Thanks for that thread.
Edius and Premiere pro are working now.
I got premiere working by adding a few line to canopus.ini and for edius i had to change the overlay setting in edius.

But i've still a problem with MPEGcapture. I got the latest version from canopus.com. It will only show 1 frame when you move the screen a bit, or when you change a setting.. Also my monitor connected via y/c cable is not working with this program..

same for me, canopus.ini editing solved problems only for premiere, edius works ok after internal program settings change, but not mpegcapture. his radeon 3850 agp here.

Any chance you could list the changes to the .ini file please pranza? Have had no luck at all with getting premier to work with edius card.

it's working here by editting the canopus.ini and the overlay settings in edius
