    Read this thread here:

It is a panel showing the settings for making a DJ alpha element for use in Edius.
With the final product you put it onto the timeline above the desired clip that you wish to show through.

Digital Juice has a free program called Juicer 3 that you need to download and you will use it to render all of your digital juice content. When you get that and look at the controls you will see the settings that I mentioned. You will render it out to an avi file that is saved somewhere on your computer and then import that into Edius.

You DO NOT have to apply a chromakey keyer to the DJ clip once it is imported into Edius. You will simply drag that clip onto the Edius timeline and it will show as a regular lower third (or whatever you are using).

    YOU MUST USE JUICER 3.

digital juice comes with a converter called Juicer 3, that is what you use to create your alpha channel avi before you even open Edius

A key always removes a particular colour so if you are keying black over black you will end up with black. Apart from that try the luminance key.

So pressing shift Q will render the juicer in the timeline. Ok I can get you from here

Sorry for my ignorance but really new using the edius. So the lower third now is a moving video but the upper portion is black. if I have a video on the first track and juicer in the 2nd track, it will superimpose the first track and what you can only is is the second track with the lower track and above it is a black one. When I apply the chromakey, thats the time the black will disaperar but the sad thing is that when you have black at the lower thrid it
    will also disapear.

I think this is what I really do not know and causing my problem. Please advice me where can I see that alpha type you are referring here that must be straight.

    Thanks

You don't need to do anything to the digital juice lower thirds. In Juicer 3, when you go to settings, change the output format to an avi (Quicktime is the default), make sure alpha type is straight and simply render it out. You can then drop the rendered avi directly into Edius and use it.
